TEENS AT WORK

TEENS AT WORK

The Bantu Hope Foundation Teens at Work Program is an initiative designed to positively impact Somali Bantu youth aged 14-18, serving students in Franklin County. By actively participating in the program, these teens become role models for younger children in the community. Through their engagement in substance use prevention and community volunteerism.

The program places a strong emphasis on community violence reduction, striving to create a safer environment that is conducive to the learning and development of children. By addressing and mitigating issues related to community violence, the program actively promotes a setting where personal success can flourish.

Key Components of TEENS AT WORK

Skill Development: We provide a structured platform for teens to develop crucial skills such as leadership, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. These skills not only enrich their personal growth but also equip them for future success.

Community Impact Projects: Teens at Work is not just about learning; it’s about applying that knowledge to create real change. Participants are encouraged to initiate and actively contribute to community projects addressing local needs and issues.

Mentorship and Networking: Our program facilitates meaningful connections between teens and experienced mentors, as well as opportunities to network with professionals across various fields. This mentorship provides guidance and support as teens embark on their journey of community transformation.

Recognition and Celebration: We believe in recognizing and celebrating the efforts of our young change-makers. Participants receive acknowledgment through awards, certificates, and public recognition for their outstanding contributions.

Summer Employment: Through our program, teens receive coaching and encouragement to seek employment during the summer. Whether they work with BHF in our summer camp or pursue other opportunities aligned with their interests, our program equips them with the skills to secure and retain a job.

Program Schedule

The Teens at Work program offers year-round support and opportunities for teens to develop valuable skills. During the school year, participants meet weekly for skill-building activities and workshops that enhance their knowledge and abilities.

When summer arrives, our program transitions into a hands-on experience where teens have the opportunity to put their skills into practice through employment. We provide mentorship and guidance throughout the summer, ensuring that teens are supported in their work and personal development. Join us as we empower teens to succeed in school, work, and life!

"As an intern TEENS at work gave me a whole bunch of opportunities that I've never had before. Everyone I worked with was understanding and helped me get my community service seal in high school."
